The Team

0Just a little bit about the team. We are a team of 7 students of the University Utrecht in the Netherlands. We are working at an introduction project in which we are going to make a rogue like dungeon crawler based on the old Legend of Zelda game (1986). We will make the game so that it can be controlled by a customized makey makey controller and we implement a random floor generator to make the game a bit more fun and replayable.

Martin

Hey my name is Martin and I am one of the programmers in this team. I have programmed quite a lot in the past and that is why my main goal of this project is not only to program myself (I am programming the library/base classes), but mostly to help others develop their programming skills.

To tell some more about myself, I am 19 years old and one of my hobbies is to make my own video games. Other than making games, I also like to play games, although I don't play games as often as I did in the past anymore.

Thomas

Hey there,

My name is Thomas Uitdewillegen, I am 19 years old and I study Game Technology at Utrecht University, as well as the other members of Gentle Jellyfish Games. I have a passion for computer games and programming, so that’s why I have chosen to follow this Bachelor. My other hobbies are playing and watching sports, go out with friends and watch TV series. Generally I watch the more popular shows. The ones I have watched/am watching are: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Arrow, Game of Thrones, House of Cards and Suits.

I’m very excited to participate in this Group project and would love to work in the Game or Animated Film industry. I will primarily be programming the AI for our game, but also be leading our meetings.

Thank you for reading my bio and enjoy the rest of our blog!

Diego

Hi, I am Diego Consen, I have been around for more than 19 years, and counting! Currently I am a student at Utrecht University where I study Game Technology. My interests include programming,
drawing, music and computer games. I live in Amstelveen which is close to our country’s capital Amsterdam. I have a driven character and I like to be challenged. In the future I hope to work more on my arts and game design.

Mees

If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, who you gonna call?

Well, probably not me. I’m not that good with ghosts. Hi there, my name is Mees van Winkoop, 18 years young and I too am a part of Gentle Jellyfish Games *jazzhands*. I’m a student at the Utrecht University, and I study Game Technology, just like the rest of the group. My favourite song is St. Elmo’s Fire by John Parr (it’s a classic), and my favourite game is the not-so-famous Mount and Blade. My favourite TV show would be That 70’s Show and no, I do not watch Breaking Bad, stop suggesting it. Furthermore, I like programming, playing games, and pizza.

Timo

Hello,

I am Timo van Milligen. I am currently 18 years old. I study Game Technology at Utrecht University. I spend a lot of my time playing video games, if I’m not doing that you will most likely find me lifting weights. I also however really enjoy programming, especially if it’s for games, which is why I am excited to be in Gentle Jellyfish Games! I was born and raised in a small town called Harskamp and currently still live here.

Matthijs

Hi there!

My name is Matthijs Rademaker, I’m a twenty year old Game Technology student at Utrecht
University. A short introduction about who I am: Some of my (many!) interests are cycling and
drumming. In 2011 I participated in Alpe D’Huzes to raise money for the KWF. I went up and down 3 times that day, it truly was an amazing day to be part of. I’m drumming for around 3 years now and still enjoying it every time I play. My programming skills are not that developed, but I’m looking forward to learn while we work on this project.

Bram

Hi I’m Bram, game technology student at the university of Utrecht. I have always had an interest in computers and games and this is what made me decide that I wanted to be able to create my own games or, like I’m doing currently, work in a team to make one. My real computer experience started when I was about two years old and since then my time spent behind a screen has only increase, with which I’m sure many of you people out there who are currently reading this can identify. Even though it sometimes might seem like it, being sat behind a screen isn’t the only thing I do. I’m also an avid drummer and I’ve been in multiple bands already so working in a group trying to have some creative output isn’t something I’m unfamiliar with. But now I’m going to have to face my biggest creative challenge yet, making a game in a somewhat larger group of people. So it’s time to put all my programming skills that I’ve gathered over the past couple of years to the test and give it my all to make this game the best game I’ve worked on to date!
